One year ago when disaster struck Haiti help poured in from international aid and relief agencies. Many animal welfare societies were there but the situation they found before their eyes was daunting. Haiti lacked animal care infrastructures and immediately after the earthquake injured and hungry dogs, cats, horses, goats and cattle were found wandering in search of food and water.

Emergency Care

The ARCH is jointly led by the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) and the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) in partnership with numerous world animal protection organizations including American Humane Association, RSPCA UK, American Veterinary Medical Association, United Animal Nations, Finnish Federation for Animal Welfare and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
